Oneworld® Mexicana Airlines is filing for bankruptcy. Even though Oneworld® Mexicana Airlines was filed for Bankruptcy, it will continue to operate its flights normally. Oneworld® member Mexicana Airlines’ passengers will not be affected as part of the proceedings since Mexicana Airlines will continue to render services normally while it restructures its liabilities and brings its costs into line with market conditions. Likewise, Mexicana Click and Mexicana Link operations will not be affected as these airlines are independent of Oneworld® Mexicana Airlines and therefore independent to the proceedings.

The Oneworld alliance declared on January 19, 2010 that JAL Japan Airlines will offer during the period of restructuration benefits to Oneworld passengers. JAL Japan Airlines also maintains the benefits of its loyalty programfollowing its filing of bankruptcy in the court of Tokyo. All operations are maintained by JAL Japan Airlines and the Oneworld alliance member airlines will provide their support to the JAL Japan Airlines during this period.

Today January 19, 2010, JAL Japan Airlines filed for bankruptcy before the Tokyo Tribunal, but nonetheless announced that its flights and operations will be maintained during the restructuration period. During the period of restructuration, Japan Airlines JAL will continue to offer the benefits of its loyalty program and will receive financial support from “Turnaround Enterprise Initiative Corporation (ETIC). In early February, a new hierarchical organisation will be announced following the resignation of the CEO and several other leaders of Japan Airlines JAL.
