Star Alliance member carriers, TAP Portugal based in Portugal and Continental Airlines based in the United States have signed a code share agreement. The code share between TAP Portugal and Continental Airlines will offer passengers better flights connections between the States, Central America, Europe and also to Africa. TAP Portugal code share Continental Airlines will come into effect as from today, 11th October 2010. Following the code share signed, TAP Portugal will place its two letter ‘TP’ on flights operated by Continental Airlines between Newark and 20 American destinations and Mexico City and also on the daily flights between Lisbon and Newark. Furthermore, the code share agreement will allow Continental Airlines to place its letter code ‘CO’ on flights between Newark and Portugal operated by TAP Portugal as well as on the domestic flights within Portugal, and also to Spain, France, UK, Germany and Africa. Besides to the code share of routes, both passengers of TAP Portugal and Continental Airlines will be able to earn and redeem miles on either airline.
