The United States based airline, Delta Airlines and the Australian based airline, Virgin Blue have signed a code share agreement. Delta Airlines and Virgin Blue will be effective as from 10th December 2009. Hence under this code share agreement both airlines, Delta Airlines and Virgin Blue will have the chance to offer flights between Australia and the United States to all its passengers. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) have protected his permission for Delta Airlines and Virgin Blue under this code share agreement. In other words passengers travelling will Delta Airlines and Virgin may profit from flights to Australia and the United States due to Delta Airlines code share Virgin Blue.

The low cost airline Virgin Blue will open a new lounge namely ‘The Lounge’ at the Perth Airport in December 2009. ‘The Lounge’ of Virgin Blue having a seating capacity of more than 120 travellers and of size around 500 square metres. ‘The Lounge’ of Virgin Blue is located on the ground floor of Virgin Blue Terminal. Moreover ‘The Lounge’ of Virgin Blue will provide a range of facilities to its travellers either on Business purpose of on Leisure purpose. Virgin Blue new Lounge at Perth Airport will make available HD plasma TVs, several newspapers and magazines and food and beverages. In other words ‘The Lounge’ of Virgin Blue at Perth Airport will provide morning, midday and evening refreshments such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, gourmet and sweet snacks to its travellers. Moreover ‘The Lounge’ of Virgin Blue at Perth Airport will also offer beers and wines.

As from 14th November 2009 the low cost airline, Virgin Blue will be offering direct flights from Perth to Phuket to all its passengers. Moreover Virgin will be operating for the route Perth and Phuket two times a week. Virgin Blue direct flights from Perth to Phuket will be operated by the Boeing 737-800 of Virgin Blue. Virgin Blue direct flights between Perth and Phuket have around six and half hours of travel. In addition on the launching of the direct flights between Perth and Phuket, Virgin Blue is proposing an air ticket as from $399.
