With Air New Zealand and Virgin Atlantic in code share passengers can book flights with any of the 2 carriers as if they were the same. Prior to the code share agreement Air New-Zealand will place its NZ code on flights operated by Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow to San Francisco and from Hong Kong to Sydney. Virgin Atlantic will place its VS code on code share flights operated by Air New-Zealand from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney and Auckland to Rarotonga, Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown. The operation of code share flights between Air New-Zealand and Virgin Atlantic will start on 28th February 2011. Air New-Zealand and Virgin Atlantic will offer their frequent flyer members miles while travelling on both carriers. To recall, Air Valid provides passengers with information on luggage Air New-Zealand so that passengers are aware of the amount and weight of luggage they are entitled to on different type of flights in different classes.
