The flag carrier of Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines has notified its passengers travelling to and from the United States that as per the Secure Flight Program they should provide their personal details such as the full name, date of birth, gender and contact details (home and mobile phone numbers plus email addresses)when booking their flights. Malaysia Airlines Secure Flight Program will enable a pre-screening of information of passengers arriving at the departure airport. Moreover, Malaysia Airlines like other international airlines is required to provide its passengers information to the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) which is responsible for the screening process, no later than 72 hours before the departure of the flight.

Lufthansa, the flag carrier airline of Germany proclaimed that an application for authorization at least 72 hours prior to departure is mandatory for all passengers willing to travel to the United States with Lufthansa. In other words Lufthansa announced to all its passengers that ESTA- Electronic System for Travel Authorisation is obligatory to all its travellers travelling to the United States as from now under the visa-free Waiver Program. Nevertheless all passengers travelling to the United States with Lufthansa do not need ESTA approval is ever they have a valid visa to the United States. Lufthansa ESTA for entry in the United States is applied to all passengers but it a passenger travelling with Lufthansa to the United States has not obtained authorisation prior to departure will not be allowed in the United States.

ESTA establishes a new online registration program in the Visa Waiver has been made mandatory as from 12th January 2009. Thus travellers from countries forming part of the Waiver Program Visa whose ESTA France visiting the United States for a holiday should have in hand an electronic ESTA authorisation before going aboard. Moreover travellers must fill out Form I-94W directly on the website of ESTA. Hence filling the Form I-94W will be at least 72 hours before the flight to the United States so that passengers can obtain their authorisation number that will be required to register at the airport in France. Furtheremore with ESTA steps to travel to the USA, children on their own must obtain ESTA authorisation.
