The subsidiary airline of British Airways, OpenSkies announces its refocusing on the Paris to New York flight by suspending its Amsterdam to New York flight starting on 16th August 2009. OpenSkies from Paris to New York has doubled the market share of OpenSkies in 2008. The flight from Paris to New York of OpenSkies also increased its number of passengers by nine percent over the last 6 months. OpenSkies will propose to the passengers who already have their tickets for the Amsterdam to New York flight to either travel on British Airways transit London or a refund of their ticket.

The airline based in Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways and American Airlines, the airline based in the United States declared a new code share agreement since 9th July 2009. Once Etihad Airways code share agreement with American Airlines is set, passengers shifting between the Etihad Airways and American Airlines will be able to purchase a single ticket for their trip and benefit from the ease of being able to check in their luggage to their ultimate destination. With this new code share agreement, Etihad Airways will place its ‘EY’ code on a number of transatlantic flights operated by American Airlines between Europe and the United States, as well as selected domestic flights operated by American Airlines beyond New York and Chicago. Consecutively, American Airlines will place its own ‘AA’ code on services operated by Etihad Airways between Abu Dhabi and New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), Paris (CDG), Dublin, Frankfurt, Manchester and Milan (MXP).
