Finnair, the airline based in Finland announces with the other Oneworld airlines their delay in shifting to the Terminal 1 of Barcelona International Airport. Finnair delay to Terminal 1 at Barcelona is due to the fact that the Terminal 1 is still under construction at the Barcelona International Airport but the airport authorities have estimated that the move will now take place on 30th September 2009. Finnair Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver passengers as well as Business Class passengers may use the Pau Casals Lounge in the new terminal 1 at Barcelona. With the opening of Terminal 1 Finnair will be able to serve 55 million passengers per year. The new Terminal 1 has 101 boarding gates, 43 air bridges, 73 shops, 43 bars and restaurants, 166 check-in desks and more than 11,000 parking spaces.
