The subsidiary airline of British Airways, OpenSkies announces its refocusing on the Paris to New York flight by suspending its Amsterdam to New York flight starting on 16th August 2009. OpenSkies from Paris to New York has doubled the market share of OpenSkies in 2008. The flight from Paris to New York of OpenSkies also increased its number of passengers by nine percent over the last 6 months. OpenSkies will propose to the passengers who already have their tickets for the Amsterdam to New York flight to either travel on British Airways transit London or a refund of their ticket.

By merging OpenSkies and L’avion passengers may now access to additional benefits. Customers may earn British Airways miles “Executive Club British Airways”. Since 2nd December 2008, passengers may earn British Airways Miles Executive Club British Airways when flying on OpenSkies or on L’Avion. The passenger must register for a card number and then communicate this number when booking. For example if a passenger chooses a roundtrip between Paris and New York the passenger will earn 9000 miles or a free return air ticket for a trip on economy class with British Airways. However passengers may book their air ticket on either the website of OpenSkies or on the website of L’avion.
