Mobile check-in is now in airports across Spain, a service offered by the Spanish carrier, Spanair. Mobile check in is an electronic 2D barcode which is received via MMS and saved on the passenger’s mobile phone. This system is made possible by NeoMedia Technologies. So NeoMedia Technologies has installed its EXIO scanners in eleven Spanish airports in order to be able to read the 2D codes on the mobile phones at the airport terminal check-in desks and security points. Spanair is the first airline company to offer its passengers’ mobile check-in. However Spanair proved that Mobile check-in is original and competent at the same time. Spanair’s Mobile check-in is not time consuming and proves to be the greatest way to get on the plane in Spain. Moreover Spanair has estimated that 800,000 2D mobile tickets will be issued in 2009. Mobile phone’s known as a business tool, will help business customers to make their booking rapidly. Further more Mobile check-in will be useful for both business customers and consumer users.
