The airline based in Germany, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines, the airline based in Austria have been approved for merger which will be valid as from September 2009. Lufthansa merger with Austrian Airlines will allow Austrian Airlines to benefit from 500 million euros in restructuring aid and an anti-trust immunity which are also reasonably adequate for Lufthansa.
