Lufthansa, Germany’s national airline, is increasing its mobile boarding pass service. Moreover, the mobile boarding pass with Lufthansa has already been introduced to its route Frankfurt and Vancouver. Moreover, Lufthansa is now making available mobile boarding pass to nearly all long-haul flights departing from Germany. Furthermore, while check-in on the airline website, Lufthansa passengers’ are issued a mobile boarding pass with a 2D barcode on their mobile phone. In addition, the electronic boarding pass replaces the need for a printed paper document. The mobile boarding pass contains a 2D barcode which includes the passenger’s name, flight number and departure time, which authorise Lufthansa passengers to pass through the security checkpoints and then proceed straight to their departure gate. There, the card is read by a scanner, enabling the passenger to board the aircraft without a printed mobile pass.
