The airline based in Barcelona, Vueling publishes its figures 2009. The low cost airline based in Spain, Vueling carried a total of 8.2 million of passengers in 2009. In addition Vueling announced that it has recorded an average load factor of 73.7%, an increase of 3.4% over the year 2008. Furthermore the passenger volume has increased greatly through its merging with Clickair the airline based in Spain as well and also reducing its flight plan after the decline in 2008.

WestJet, the low-cost airline based in Calgary, proclaimed its load factor for July 2009. WestJet July 2009 load factor shows a decrease of 3.3 points compared to the same period last year. In 2008, WestJet traffic was of 79.9% whereas this year 2009 the traffic is of 76.4%. The load factor of July 2009 for WestJet also illustrates a decrease of 0.4% for the available seat miles and a reduction of 4.5% for the revenue passenger miles of WestJet. Moreover WestJet launched in July 2009 various new destinations such as Varadero, Holguin, Cayo Coco, Cuba, Ixtapa,Cozumel, Mexico, St. Martin/St. Maarten, Turks, Caicos, Freeport, Bahamas, Lihue (Kauai), Hawaii, Miami, Florida, Atlantic City and New Jersey.
