Qatar Airways, the flag carrier airline of Qatar based in Doha promotes new flights to Melbourne as from 6th June 2009. The CEO of Qatar Airways said that the company was waiting for its new aircrafts B777-200LR to start operating the first of two flights to Australia. The Manager of Qatar Airways operations to Melbourne, said that the Australian market has potential international passengers. The public is eager to see a five-star company of the stature of Qatar Airways flight to Melbourne. Until now the customers had to go to Asia to access its services. The B777-200 aircraft operated on the route of Qatar Airways to Melbourne will be configured in two classes with 259 passengers, including 42 passengers in the business class of Qatar Airways where passengers can enjoy maximum comfort and services to fly to Melbourne. Configured 2-2-2 in Business Class, the seats recline with rows spaced approximately 2 meters.

On 5th March 2009, Maxis signed a partnership with Malaysia Airlines and AeroMobile. All postpaid consumers of Maxis will now be able to benefit from the in-flight Malaysian services proposed by the airline and AeroMobile. Postpaid consumers will are be able to make use of their mobile phones while being onboard Malaysia Airlines. Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777-200 is equipped with AeroMobile.
