On 20th March 2008, AeroMobile was launched on Emirates flight from Dubai to Casablanca. Up to date, 160170 travelers have used their mobile phones while traveling on Emirates aircraft. This new in-flight Emirates service is available on 32 aircraft of Emirates. AeroMobile is available on various aircrafts models of Emirates including Boeings 777-200s and 777-300s, and also the Airbus A340-300, A340-500 and A330-200.

Etihad Airways to Chicago

The flag carrier airline of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways start flights to Chicago as from Wednesday 2nd September 2009. The flights to Chicago will be served 3 times a week and will be increased to daily flights as from 1st October 2009. Moreover the flights to Chicago will be operated by the aircraft Airbus A340-500 with a capacity of 240 passengers having 12 in first class, 28 in business class and 200 in economy class. The new service proposed by Etihad Airways will provide a daily flight for travellers both business and leisure as well as improve ties between Abu Dhabi and Chicago but also between UAE and US. Etihad Airways will also begin flights to Melbourne, Athens and Istanbul during 2009.
