The national airline of Italy and member of the Skyteam alliance, Alitalia published new luggage policies. Alitalia new luggage policies will be effective as from the 1st September 2010. As new luggage policies, Alitalia now proposes the luggage piece concept and will be on all the destinations served by Alitalia. Passengers having bought air tickets before the 31st August and which are to fly after the 1st September will not be concerned by the new luggage policies of Alitalia. As per the luggage policies, on Alitalia flights to Europe, North Africa, Middle East economy class passengers are allowed to carry one bag weighing 23kgs, premium economy class passengers are allowed to carry 2 bags of 23kgs and business class passengers three bags of 23kgs. However, Alitalia passengers carrying more than the authorized luggage allowance will have to pay some additional charges. Passengers having air ticket Japan, air ticket Brazil, air ticket Algeria and all the other destinations Alitalia serves will be concerned with the new luggage policies.
