Due to the volcanic ash on the runways and the surrounding areas of Anchorage, the airport had to close up as it was dangerous to operate aircraft. Since 29th March 2009, Alaska Airlines had recommenced flights to and from Anchorage following the reopening of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Thus, Alaska Airlines had to reschedule its flights departing from Seattle at 7 p.m to reach Anchorage at 9.53 p.m local time. However, flights outside Anchorage were supposed to start about 4 p.m. local time. Hence, if the weather conditions permit, Alaska Airlines will maintain its normal schedule as expected.
